Ani Guild Header 1 600

Kia ora e te whānau,

I am so incredibly excited to watch the third iteration of The ANI Guild make a comeback in 2026! This year we’ve upped the ante with a whole load of illustrators and way more journalists because, as we know, it takes a whole lot of man power to keep this machine oiled.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to give the Guild a whole new look with fresh new takes to bring you the happenings at ANI.

I’m already so impressed with the dedicated tamariki and I cannot wait to see what they do. So keep an eye out for the fortnightly news by the people, for the people.

Welcome to The ANI Guild.

Faiza Chowdhury

Editor in Chief

Welcome to the first issue of the 2026 ANI Guild!

We are so excited to bring you sincere news and keep you well informed on what is happening at the Guild and we’re ready to start clicking our cameras and start typing away! We are all locked and ready to give you the most exquisite news and to start feeding you fresh information about our amazing school! And we’re just bursting with excitement and are ready to start typing away!

Here at the ANI Guild, we value collaboration and time-management. We have photographers, editors, videographers, video editors, presenters, and last but not least, our journalists. We will be posting articles every fortnight so make sure you check the ANI website regularly! Our head Editor and supervisor for Ani Guild is Mrs Chowdhury so  if you have any questions about the Guild make sure to go to her classroom right beside Mr Tinshe’s office! We also have a huge team of 30 students working together to make this amazing newspaper come to life!

We have an amazing team of students here at the guild spending their own time on this so everyone in this guild is working hard so every single person in this community can read this newsletter. Ms Chowdhury is also working very hard so that we can deliver this newsletter to everyone in time. Without her we would never be able to do this and the Guild wouldn’t be complete without her so we would like to say a big thank you to her hard work and dedication to the ANI Guild.

So without further ado, we bring you the ANI Guild of 2026!

Embracing the Tides of The Tasman with Shaun Quincey!

Have you ever thought of crossing the Tasman Sea all by yourself?! Well, our school, ANI, has just met someone who has! Shaun Quincey was the second kiwi to cross the Tasman Sea by himself.

When Shaun came to ANI, he explained to us how he crossed the Tasman Sea, and how he used Mārama-tanga to overcome all his difficulties. His seafaring adventure took him 54 days from Australia to New Zealand. In those 54 days he went backwards for 34 days, showing how you might not get your desired result straight away and how practice makes perfect.

He started his journey mentally at the age of 16, planning and organising how the trip would go and how he would overcome the obstacles. He thought that if his dad went from NZ to Australia, why not go the opposite way? One amazing thing is that he built the boat himself, though on the way there were two main delays: he cut through his hand with his chisel, and got surgery after he had a burst appendix. Shaun didn’t find the fact that he burst his appendix bad because what’s the fun of rowing the Tasman when you have a burst appendix and still have to continue rowing across it?

Shaun also taught us that even in the most difficult moments you still have to stay positive. He told us that in his tiny, cramped sleeping cabin he wrote many positive quotes for himself on the walls to keep going. He said that after a big storm his whole boat flipped over and he lost his hat, his sunglasses and many more important things. The positivity he had helped a lot because when his boat capsized, he kept tons of hope by his side until eventually a giant wave swept in to save the day and soon he officially landed in New Zealand!

His journey heavily correlates with the learning pit also as he talked about getting out of that stuck state in the pit to climbing up and making it.For him that was reaching his destination or finishing building a safe boat but for us that could mean reaching another goal inspiring many of our ANI students.

His father, Colin Quincey, rowed from Hokianga Harbour, New Zealand to Marcus Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Australia in 1977, inspiring his son, known as Shaun Quincey, to do the same. Colin Quincey’s journey was slightly different than Shaun Quincey’s as he reached his destination in 63 days whereas Shaun reached it in 54 days, making a 9 day difference, but there was no competition. Colin Quincey sadly passed away on the 9th of July, 2018 from lung cancer leaving behind his three children and five grandchildren and an ongoing legacy! Shaun also wrote a book called “Tasman Trespasser II” a follow up to his fathers book “Tasman Trespasser”. Not only that but he also made a company called Genoaplay but he sold it and then made another company called Simfuni.

In conclusion, Shaun didn’t just tell us about his adventures on the sea and how awesome it was, (although we can admit it was super cool and interesting!) he taught us how to overcome fears and hard times with positivity and smart thinking. His determination is truly through the roof!

The Magical Hollywood Social

It was a spectacular night for the students and the teachers who attended the Hollywood social. A fun night where year 7’s and year 8’s can get to socialise and boogie away. This year’s first social was Hollywood themed, so we were expecting …

Lights, Camera, ACTION!!!!!

The Hollywood disco was amazing for everyone, and their outfits were truly Hollywood-worthy and striking!

What a great first social event of the year! Who would expect all the creative and unique dance moves that all the students showed us? A few of the talented students got lollies for the best dance moves. People were doing the worm dance, splits, cartwheels and so many more glorious moves! They had so many dance moves going on! It was outstanding! Congratulations to all the winners, they were so hard to choose! Everyone did an amazing job socialising at the event.

Oh, how great all the costumes were. People wore all sorts of outfits – dresses, suits, matching clothes and much more! They were all so creative! Thank you to all the students who participated in the social dances. We are so glad that you all enjoyed yourselves!

A huge thanks to the PTA for setting this wonderful social up, as we are so grateful to have all of you this year. And we definitely can’t forget about DJ Cadelis, who stole the spotlight with the amazing songs that were chosen! Everyone enjoyed singing along to the songs that were chosen by the students themselves.

A massive thank you to the Totara team teachers, as it wouldn’t have been possible if they weren’t there. Thank you to Miss Over and Miss Minton for your fabulous photography as it really showed the students having a fantastic night, enjoying the drinks, food and lollies. And we can’t forget, thank you to all the students who participated in this event. It wouldn’t have been possible without all of you.

Celebrating Cultural Day

How many of you were born in New Zealand? How many of you speak other languages at home? What did you have for dinner last night? Butter chicken or fish & chips? Most of our parents or grandparents have come from different parts of the world, but now we are all together and a part of this extraordinary kiwi culture, each of us holding onto our little bit of tradition.

On the 16th of March, ANI celebrated cultural day to acknowledge the many cultures in our ANI community. It was a special and meaningful day to learn and share about the cultures around the world.

On this day, many students came dressed in traditional clothing that come with unique designs from their culture. The school was filled with vibrant colors

It was a great opportunity for everyone to represent their heritage.

Around nine thirty am, the whole school came together in the MPS to see the cultural parade. After the MC had spoken to the whole school, the festive music began and people clapped eagerly with the beat of the rhythm. Group by group, people from different cultures stepped up the stage proudly. China! India! South Korea! Sri Lanka! New Zealand!

The food was the most exciting part of the cultural day. Tables in classrooms were filled with various kinds of food. The air was filled with the aroma of different cuisines. It was fantastic to smell all the different spices and ingredients in a lovely mixture in our ANI school grounds! It was a memorable way to share all sorts of food from different countries.

Culture is an important part of us, even though somehow it’s invisible in our daily lives. Through this rare opportunity, we get to see and learn about the cultures each of us belongs to. The long inherited traditions, and the kai that we are now familiar with. Students showcased their traditional clothes and walked around in them proudly. Such a wonderful experience we had in ANI!

Ready, Set, Trial!

The AIMS team sport trials have begun! It has been an exciting past two weeks for all the sports people at ANI, with Netball, Futsal, Hip hop, Football, Hockey, Water polo, Rippa, and Basketball teams. All trialling for a spot in the AIMS squad. With all the trials happening over Weeks 6 and 7, ANI students have been full of excitement, nerves, and anticipation as they wait for the results.

The 2026 Zespri AIMS Games is a nationwide tournament for some of the best young sports players in New Zealand. Intermediate schools from all over Aotearoa compete for the glory of being the best in the country at their sport. The tournament is held in Tauranga from the 5th – 11th of September 2026. Because ANI is an extremely sporty school, trials start early so players have time to sharpen their skills and push themselves to a higher level.

With trials in the morning, afternoon, and during school, the whole of ANI has been trying to balance trials, schoolwork, and after-school activities. Each sport has three trials, and you have to go to at least two of them to be considered for a sport. Each trial is taken very seriously because AIMS is a very important tournament for the ANI community.

In order to make sure ANI chooses the best students for the AIMS teams. Each sport has three trials to pick a smaller group to train in, called a squad. The squad trains for a term to see how well they work together and how much their skills improve. After a term, the teachers in charge of each sport, talk with each other to decide who makes the final AIMS teams for the tournament.

We wish all the students trialling for a spot on the squad and teams the very best, and we hope everyone feels proud of how they went in their trials.

Ready, Set, DONATE

ANI is ready for a round of relay to raise funds for the Relay For Life, who are fundraising for the Cancer Society, for people who have cancer. This is a wonderful opportunity to donate, since not only you know there are people running for the fund, but also the money goes towards helping others with cancer and it gives you mana.

In the celebration lap the people who had or have cancer run and then the loving people who care for them run and after. This is when each team gets their baton and puts up a solid fight against cancer. You can run, sprint or even walk. Above all of that they do a special moment where they honour the people who have or had cancer and to remember the people they lost. It’s called a candlelight ceremony. Additionally they decorate the big track with small glowing bags.

Last but not least in this amazing celebration held by Auckland relay for life is the fun stuff. At this part of the celebration they will host many special events, activities, music and most importantly the delicious food. The envelope of gasses fill the Trust Arena with positive calm breezes. Here’s a link you can use to donate some money to our ANI kaiako who are running/walking/jogging this weekend. Please give generously!  Linked here.

Going Green for Mental Health

Mitey mufti isn’t just a fun activity or a day where we can dress up, it’s so much more!

At ANI we have been running a program for the past two years called MITEY, which is an approach to learning that focuses entirely on children’s mental health. The movement started with a man named Sir John Kirwan, who was a rugby player for the All Blacks from 1984 to 1994. He had struggled with mental health himself, so he made this programme to be taught in schools to help them cope with their mental health problems as well!

When people come to talk about MITEY, it helps us improve our mental health, boost our energy, and play fun games together. This helps because it builds emotional resilience, manages stress, and helps us understand why mental health is so important for us. The Mitey programme is designed for students from years 1-8, because it’s important to start educating children about mental health at a young age to build appropriate skills.

We celebrate Mitey because at ANI we value mental health, and we think that educating our students on this topic is a privilege. We know that there are kids who struggle with mental health, and this approach to learning helps all of our young adults to not just study, but really understand the topic. ANI is so lucky to have the MITEY programme! MITEY helps us with not only our mental health, but it helps us with understanding and managing our mental well-being, reducing stigma, and helping young people with essential life skills.

So, to celebrate value during the Mitey week, the student leaders gave out some raffle tickets to people who showed the ANI values:

Maramatanga: for growing and learning,

Mānaakitanga: for being kind and empathetic

Whanaungatanga: for connecting with others

Rangratiratanga: for showing leadership!

Throughout the whole week, they gave out over 400 tickets! And during the assembly on Monday Week 7, the raffle winners were chosen. Congratulations to the winners of the raffle – and great job to everyone who participated during the week and got the chance to earn some tickets! We are so happy to see how many students here are showing our ANI values all the time.

During MITEY week, we had the opportunity to do so many different activities!

On Monday, we had organized an activity on the field where everyone got a chance to play some charades and crazy games!

Balloon dogs are a symbol for MITEY- they represent breath and human life, so, on Tuesday the student leaders organized some peaceful balloon dog making, they were even green to fit our green MITEY theme!

Mindfulness is very important for MITEY because it calms our mind, so on Wednesday, the student leaders set up some mindful drawing and colouring activities for everyone to relax.

On Thursday, a quiet corner was set up for students to have some peace and quiet during the loudness of lunchtime.

On Friday the 13th, all of our students looked amazing in green for our MITEY day. We all dressed up beautifully and gave in a gold coin donation to help fundraise for the MITEY programme. We would love to give a shout-out to everyone who dressed up! Everyone did an amazing job on fitting the theme for green! A big thank you to everyone who dressed up in colour to support MITEY.

Friday was such a scorching day, especially for all of the amazing students who dressed up, so the refreshing ice blocks that were sold at lunchtime were so much help! Our generous student leaders sold out on all the ice blocks, they were perfect to snack on in the scalding weather.

After all the searching and running

Wow, Central Zones Orienteering went amazingly well! On Thursday the 19th of March, twenty nine dedicated students travelled down to Michael Park school  in search of the fastest time against a total of twelve schools. . The students ran around the course in search of boxes, which corresponded to the checkpoints on their maps. Each student had an individual course they had to follow and go to, meaning that you couldn’t just follow the person in front of you, you had to use your map to locate the next box.

You may be wondering – what is orienteering? Well, orienteering is one of the various sports we offer here at ANI. The main goal of orienteering is to locate the controls or checkpoints on a map with speed and efficiency. To collect the data of your time, the organizers of the event will hand you a ring with a stick-like shape attached to it. Whenever you approach a box you can plug the stick in and it should beep or light up for a brief amount of time,  a little similar to a USB flash drive. And if you decide to participate in team orienteering,  all of your scores (which are your times for how long it took you to finish the map) will be  counted together to create one final product of your score!

Our wonderful teachers Mr Nicol and Ms Purchase led and helped our students to reach their full potentials and get a faster time with weekly trainings where they would assist us around various courses. Thank you for guiding us to slowly get faster times and better map skills through hard work.

For this year’s Central Zones, groups of 4- 6 students split up to go through their own individual courses to try and get the fastest time. Once all of the team is back they count up all the times to get one number which is their score. The quickest team from our school  got an amazing time of  1:03:55,  coming in third place overall for their year and gender group. Everyone gave it their all on the course, so a big congratulations and well done to each and every one of the participants. It was amazing to see teammates enthusiastically cheering each other on near the finish line, people helping each other out during tough times and overall just supporting each other and building relationships!

A DAY FOR WOMEN

On Sunday, the 8th of March 2026, was International women’s day. Everyone at ANI celebrated it with enthusiasm. The ANI Student leaders came up with the idea of celebrating it as a school, when it was suggested during a meeting by one of the leaders. During our weekly assembly, our student leaders came to talk about the importance of International Women’s Day.

It was such an inspiring and interesting assembly. The students were sitting on the edge of their seats, listening intensely to their speech.

Did you know, the colour purple is said to be associated with Women’s day, since it has a strong connection to justice and dignity?

The reason that we learn about it at school is because it acknowledges the fact that women didn’t have an easy life in the past, a reminder that some women still don’t live peacefully in this present time.

International Women’s day is a chance to celebrate the women who made a difference in our community. International Women’s Day has been celebrated since 1911 with the first official event occurring on March 19th 1911.

Doing something to show you appreciate them is something women deserve. Helping them and even saying “thank you” could make a huge impact.

Saving the World From Sickness!

Recently, the school has been on edge about the news of vaccinations coming up. On Tuesday the 10th of March, the teachers of ANI handed out permission slips for the year 7’s and 8’s to get their: ‘Boostrix’ and ‘HPV’ vaccines.

The HPV vaccines the year 8 students of ANI are getting protect them from a number of cancers and illnesses. HPV (also known as Human Papillomavirus) is a group of common viruses that infect about 80% of people at some time in their lives. Most HPV infections get better on their own over time but some can evolve into very dangerous cancers that can be very harmful for your health. Most children get offered the vaccine when they are in Year 7 & 8 as this is the best time to immunise them because their immune system is really effective at making antibodies in response to the vaccine and protection lasts longer.

The Boostrix Vaccine for the year 7s is an immunization to protect students from tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (whooping cough) it is for people 11 years and older and is commonly used on the National immunisation Schedule for teenagers (11-12 years), or for adult booster vaccines. It particularly protects against Whooping cough.

The year 7s and 8s alike have been worried about their upcoming immunisations with mixed feelings about the outcome of it. With permission slips signed and handed in students are well on their way to protecting themselves against deadly diseases and horrible infections.

I have had a passion for art since 2022-2023 ish, which is why I decided to apply to be an illustrator for the guild. My drawings may not be that good, but I’ll try my best and learn to improve!

Scarlett

Hi, my name is Scarlett Mayson and I am a presenter for the ANI guild for 2026. I am 12 years old and a year 8 in Room 23 with Mrs McGill.

I am really excited to be part of this amazing team to make amazing articles about life in ANI. Last year I was also a presenter for the guild and I enjoyed it greatly.

I was born here in New Zealand and have lived here my whole life. My family likes travelling so nearly every year we go on at least one trip, either around NZ or overseas. It is one of the highlights of the year because we all spend time together and we go to really cool places. I have two sisters, one in high school and one in primary school.

In my free time I love dancing, playing football and reading. My favourite book series would have to be The Hunger Games because of its captivating storyline and incredible characters.

I am really excited for another year as a part of the amazing ANI guild and I hope it is as exciting as 2025.

Grace

Kia ora, my name is Grace. I’m currently in Year 8, and my classroom is Room 11 with the amazing IB leader, Mr Nicol! This is my first year in the ANI Guild and I’m stoked to be part of the team. My role right now is photographer for the Guild, but I hope to try new positions as the year goes on.

I absolutely love watching films. Some of my all-time favourites include The Avengers, Locke & Key, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Game of Thrones. If I’m not in front of a screen, I’ll probably be playing volleyball or curled up in a corner reading.

I think being in the ANI Guild will really help me improve my photography skills, as I aspire to be a director of photography when I’m older. Some of my short-term goals for this year are to build up my confidence, whether it’s by presenting or sharing my work with others. I’m really looking forward to it!

Olivia

Hello! My name is Olivia, and I am a video editor at the Guild. I am 12 years old and a Year 8; this is my second year at ANI, and I am excited to join the Guild.

I like coding, playing badminton, and reading a lot. Like literally. If you see me in the school there is a 80% chance I am holding if not reading a book; I also really like cats. I am from China even though I was born here. I have a little brother called Adrian (who is really annoying). I’m really good at technology stuff which is why I like video editing. My favourite colours are purple, blue, and pink. I am a librarian at ANI (which is a very suitable role for me since I like books so much.)

I am looking forward to taking part and contributing to the ANI Guild!

Flora

Kia Ora, my name is Flora and I’m 12 years old. I’m currently in Room 23 and I am a video editor for the ANI Guild. I am from China but I also lived in Malaysia for 3 years to study so I know a little bit about Malaysia. I joined some competitions like art and math.

I went to Wesley Methodist School Penang International for my primary school I was a Prefect and I also choose Video Edit for my CCA so I have some experience in this job. Personally, I really enjoy making videos in my own time so I think being a video editor in ANI Guild is a really good idea and opportunity for me. This year I really want to take more responsibility and have more communication in ANI.

I am really looking forward to having a nice and interesting year in the ANI Guild.

Caleb

Kumusta, I am Caleb and I am 12 years old. I am a member of the ANI Guild as a Photographer. I am in Year 8 and I am from Room 21 with Miss Bello. I am from the Philippines, and I came to New Zealand when I was 3 years old. My languages are Filipino, English & Russian.

I’m excited to join the member of the ANI Guild. My goal is to improve my skills, spelling, and reading. I also work for the SLT and my sport is hockey & rock climbing.

My primary school is Epsom Normal Primary School/ENPS which I loved.

I enjoy playing with my friend and eating my favourite food, and I was lucky to become Sport Captains. If you see me, say hi ;).

Mason

Hello, my name is Mason, and I’m a journalist in the ANI Guild. I am 11, turning 12 and I’m a year 8 in RM9 with the BEST teacher, Ms Hughes. I have 2 younger siblings who are Sophia, who is 8, and Noah turning 7.

I came to New Zealand when I was 3 years old and lived in Wellington for 7 years before moving to Auckland. I like running long distances, playing water polo, going swimming, and playing sports with my friends (whatever we want to play at the time).

I graduated from a neighbouring primary school called ENPS (Epsom Normal Primary School), and went to central zones for soccer, my team placing first.

I’m super excited for my last year in ANI as a journalist and as a student. Look out for the exciting articles!

Declan

Hello, my name is Declan. I am a Year 7 student this year. I am in Room 5 and my teacher is Mr Ng. I am an editor for the ANI Guild, and I am really excited to share all the amazing news from ANI with y’all.

My favourite author is Rick Riordan because I find his stories about modern and ancient Greek mythology fascinating. He also writes about other mythologies, but that isn’t important right now.

One sport I play is basketball because it improves my reactions and overall skills in sports, and it is really fun. I also play the drums because it helps me feel calm, partly because of the music and partly because of the drumming itself. I also own a 3D printer. If you already know I own one, please don’t ask if I have one, since I  already said so and it drives me crazy because many people have already asked me that like 500 times a week non-stop.

My hobbies are 3D printing, reading, writing, playing music, and playing basketball. Thank you. Bye; 再见;  さよなら; and last but not least, au revoir.

Yarish

Greetings, I’m Yarish Guganeshan and I’m in year 7.

My teacher is Ms Chowdhury. I am the youngest in a family of four and even though she annoys me sometimes, my sister is one of my best friends and she also taught me lots of stuff about cameras while she was in year 13. She’s now in university. And even though I was born in NZ, I am a proud Sri Lankan.

Since I was 5 years old I have enjoyed taking pictures in my free time. During my time at Primary school I was also selected to be a photographer and I took many photos for the school and I have since carried a burning passion for the art of photography.

I’ve had a never ending dream that one day one of my photos will go viral and people will recognise my achievements and efforts.

I also believe that through taking photos, I will grow to understand the silent beauties of flora and fauna.

Kavisha

Hello, my name is Kavisha K, and I’m thrilled to be a journalist at the ANI guild.

I am in year 8 with the same teachers from year 7, Miss Hughes and Miss Noble. I am from Sri Lanka, a country near India, and I have one annoying but funny, younger sibling whose name is Vithursha, turning 11 this year.

I came to New Zealand when I was 2 and have lived here for the past 10 years. I love reading, spending time with my friends, and playing sports, especially netball, volleyball, and badminton.

I’ve graduated from Epsom Normal Primary School, which is near ANI, and have competed at several netball competitions as it is my main & favourite sport.

I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to be a journalist at the ANI Guild, anticipating having an enjoyable time here and hopefully writing articles you guys will love!

Chloe

Hi my name is Chloe Chi-Ying Chun and I’m a year 7 in Room 6. Willow Park School was my primary school. I chose to be an editor at the ANI Guild because I needed to work on my editing skills and thought that editing newsletters and asking other people in the ANI Guild could help me improve those skills.

My birthday is September the 8th and this year I am turning 12! I was born in NZ and raised in China for a bit and came back to NZ. Most of my family are from China and Hong Kong but some of my siblings and cousins are from NZ. Even though I lived in NZ for a long time I still have a lot of Chinese traits.

I love Kpop and playing badminton. I also play piano and I love to make stickers of me playing piano. I’m not very artistic but I love doodling in my free time. Baking and cooking is something I absolutely love doing in my free time but I always have a sidekick; my cousin, William. I have a little brother called Liam, a middle brother Benny and a big brother Jackie. I’m so excited to be part of the ANI guild.

Sophie

Hello!

I love aerial gymnastics and dogs, and I really enjoy swimming in lakes throughout Aotearoa. I was born in Auckland, but my family is from Scotland. In my spare time I like to bake and cook, as well as some gaming.

My dreams and aspirations:

I want to learn some new languages this year, and learn about cultures and self expression. When I’m older I want to have published work. I love the sea, so I want to travel the world by boat someday, and perform in many countries.

School:

My favourite subject is writing, and I love the performing arts. I play the guitar, and I want to learn electric violin or bass. I love reading so much, and some of my favourite series are the Chronicles of Narnia, Wings of Fire and Scythe.

I am very excited to be a writer for the Guild this year, thank you!

Yeheni

Hi my name is Yeheni, and I’m part of the ANI Guild as a presenter.

I’m a Year 8 student in Mr Singh’s class. My hobbies are reading, cooking, singing and taking care of animals. I have a sibling: my older sister Dulithi.

A few facts about me are that I am Sri Lankan, I hate messy places and like anything blue!

This is my first year in the guild, and I’m really excited for it! If you see me around school, feel free to say hi!

Thanks for reading, and have a lovely year ahead!

Erin

My name is Erin Flynn! I am an illustrator for the guild this year in my last year at ANI, being a year 8 and room 8 (It’s kind of ironic with my room and year being 8).

I am originally from South Africa, growing up there before flying 27 hours here from Africa to Auckland, New Zealand and getting our New Zealand passport next year, becoming a kiwi!

My favourite colour is #6f9b5d or a more pale dark green! I have a cat at home named Frank, With him being named after Frank Sinatra.

My hobbies outside of school consist of: Drawing, Gaming, Animating and teaching my kowhai friends how to draw and giving them a tutorial on how to play for e.g; Forsaken, Dandys world and Regretavator!

So far, the extracurricular activities I am involved in is:

Receptionist, Librarian, Tuc Shop monitor (I was last year) and Guild illustrator.

Angeline

Kia ora, my name is Angeline and I am delighted to be in the ANI Guild as an illustrator this year.

I am in Year 7, and currently in Room 18 with the amazing teacher Miss Over. I’m 11 years old, and I love drawing, painting, sketching and anything that is related to art. My hobbies are drawing ( as you know ), gardening, baking, music and more. I used to go to Maungawhau Primary School which is in Mt Eden. Also, I have a brother that used to go to ANI and 2 pet guinea pigs. In my opinion, trying new things like joining the ANI Guild, clubs, and sports teams are good for you to practice skills, connect with people and to experience things.

Joining the ANI Guild is a big opportunity for me to work with other people and share my thoughts for art.  Once more, I am very excited to be part of the 2026 ANI Guild and I can wait to get started with everyone!
