In today’s ANI Guild we have the following:
● The Distant Dream of Pool Day
● Goodbye from the ANI Guild
The Distant Dream of Pool Day
Finally, it’s that time of the year again. The time ANI goes to Panmure Pools altogether, for the entire day. Throughout term 4, Students and teachers alike waited patiently for this day to arrive.
All to finally learn that exactly on the 3rd of December, when pool day was supposed to take place, a stormy forecast replaced a relaxing day at the pool with a regular day. Everyone was disappointed. But luckily, the SLT came up with some fun activities for us to enjoy. This included popcorn, lollies and a film in every ILE in block 3.
While ANI was disappointed with the loss, we still had a great day and managed to make light of it. The darkest stormcloud has the brightest flash of lightning by comparison.

Goodbye from the ANI Guild

Saanvi Rajpal
Being part of the ANI Guild this year has been such an enlightening and enjoyable experience. While I feel sad to leave behind so many happy memories, I am truly honoured to have worked alongside such a fantastic group of young writers, illustrators, and presenters. Everyone’s dedication and effort throughout the year have been inspiring.
Reflecting on my journey as a presenter, I am grateful for the many opportunities the ANI Guild has given me to grow. My speaking, interviewing, and writing skills have greatly improved, and I will always value the lessons I’ve learned here. Although I will miss the Guild, I look forward to carrying these valuable skills with me into high school.
Thank you, Miss Chowdhury, for your encouragement and unwavering support of our group.

This year has been full of its ups and downs, highs and lows. As the year comes to an end, I’ve been taking this time to reflect on the past and remind myself about all the lessons I’ve learned and what to take away from them.
Joining the ANI Guild was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made since starting at ANI as a year seven student. I’ve made so many friends and connected with so many different people through the ANI guild.
I’m sad to leave ANI as it was a place where I grew not only as a student but as a person. If I had to say one thing to the incoming year sevens is that meeting new people with the same interests as you through a school club is the most rewarding thing you can experience.
Thank you, Miss Chowdhury, for your immense support during my time in the ANI guild. I wish you and the year sevens of 2025 the best for 2026.

2025 has been a very exciting and stressful year filled with laughter and joy. I have taken a lot away from ANI that will help me to grow in my high school years.
Being a part of ANI has made me who I am today. I am so proud of myself for finishing the year. I have also made so many friends that I will cherish forever and ever.
All thanks to ANI, I will miss the noise and the laughs and the people for being who they are. Thanks to the teachers, especially Mrs Minton and Miss Chowdhury, for coping with their students for the past year. Special note to them – I will never forget how amazing you guys were. And of course, I have enjoyed being a part of the ANI Guild, it helped me to show my creativity in a new and different way. I am so grateful to all the teachers and all my friends and classmates at ANI.
And to all the new year 7s, don’t forget to get out there and try your hardest in every possible way.

The ANI Guild has certainly been one of the highlights of my time at ANI. And there have been more than a few. It has been a fantastic learning experience for me, providing me with chances to meet new people, learn about report writing, and expand my horizons and views on education.
Whilst the rest of the school year has been a multitude of variables, to put it one way, Guild has remained a constant. Without it, I would not know how my year would have been instead.
I have taken a lot out of my time in this group, improving my writing and communication skills, and gaining real-life experience in the world of reporting. These skills will remain with me throughout my life, and I will be forever grateful.
Lastly, I am incredibly grateful to Miss Chowdhury for running and supporting the Guild, and to all the ANI students of 2026. Make sure to get involved and get the most out of the opportunities ANI has to offer.

The ANI Guild has been a really enjoyable, fantastic experience for me at ANI. The opportunities, growth and relationships this chapter of life has fostered are unbeatable. I could not be more proud to be part of such an amazing group of people, and to create, shape and refine the stories and articles we release to the wider community is one of my greatest joys at ANI.
For those who don’t know, I have been a part of the ANI Guild since the very beginning in 2024, and watching the writers community here grow, develop, and continue to share stories from our beautiful school has been amazing.
But in the 2 amazing years I have spent in this group, one thing has truly stood out to me. Ms. Chowdhury. From my inception last year to my departure into high school now, she has done so, so, so much hard work for us all. I feel that all the work she does for us has gone relatively unnoticed, and now is when I want to acknowledge that dedication. Whether struggling to come up with a title, looking for photos, or needing help with some spelling errors (it happens!), she is always there to help. Her support, understanding and work is invaluable, and we truly couldn’t have done any of this without her. So, to Ms Chowdhury, thank you, goodbye, and good luck for next year’s Guild.
To my fellow writers, colleagues and friends. It’s been a pleasure to be a part of the Guild with you all. The laughs, work, and collabs truly make the Guild. To those year 7s that will carry our legacy on next year, good luck for year 8 – I’m sure you’ll find many more amazing opportunities like this to be a part of. ANI is a great school, so use it – it’s an incredible place. To 2025’s Year 8s – good luck throughout high school and journeys to come – the world has a thousand opportunities for you. Go outside your comfort zone, and you will all achieve great things.
And finally, to our readers. The ANI Guild is quite a niche little project, nestled in the depths of the ANI website, and, if you’re reading this, I’d just like to thank you for reading and being here for my articles. Goodbye, and here’s to the next chapter at ANI!

The ANI Guild – I can’t name another group which has provided the same growth, opportunities and connections.
As a student who is leaving ANI, I can look back and safely say that this community has created and nurtured many skills that I will draw upon in both the near and far future.
Being part of the ANI Guild has shaped the way I approach projects, collaborate with others, and think about my own ambitions.
The environment here constantly encouraged me to better myself – sometimes simply by surrounding me with students who were driven, curious and genuinely passionate about what we were doing.
One key piece of advice for the coming years is to just join something. Be a part of a club, group, anything. Because the community you create is one that you will always carry with you.

ANI guild has been my best highlight this year.

2025 has been a roller coaster of exciting events and nerve-racking exams filled with friendship and memories that I will never forget.
However, one of the highlights of the year is being part of the ANI Guild. It has taught me many valuable skills and lessons and helped me build new relationships.
The year is coming to an end, and although I am sad about leaving, I am proud of what I have accomplished this year and ready to move on. Before I leave, I would like to say how grateful I am to Miss Chowdhury for organising such a fun group and supporting me on my journey at ANI. I wish you the best for 2026.

This year has been a stressful, hilarious rollercoaster, full of ups and downs. I can’t believe 2025’s almost over, it’s been one hell of a ride. Being part of the ANI guild has been an incredible experience that I will remember forever. It’s brought on lots of laughs and amazing trips, like going to the writers’ festival where I got to see one of my favourite authors: Jessica Townsend.
It makes me so sad to leave ANI, after all of the new, strong friendships I’ve made and everything we’ve all been through together (like the trauma of singing Unwritten at graduation last night). Because of the ANI guild, I’ve grown both as a writer and a person. I feel more set up for high school than I probably would have otherwise.
Before I leave ANI, I need to say a massive thank you to Ms Chowdhury. Not only for being an amazing chief of the ANI guild, but also for being the best teacher I’ve ever had. You’ve taught me so much this year, and been so patient with all of my never-ending questions. Thank you.
Chloe Li
This year has been amazing, filled with lots of opportunities and fun. I can’t believe the end of the year is already approaching, meaning my journey as an intermediate student is coming to an end. As I look back on the year, I can proudly tell my younger self that we have made it through intermediate and have achieved more than we could have ever imagined.
I have loved being a part of the William Pike Challenge, the ANI Guild and being a student leader this year.
While I am sad to leave, I am really excited to start a new journey in 2026. Applying for the ANI Guild is a decision that I don’t regret, and it was the start of a learning journey on how to take risks.
Thank you so much to Ms Chowdhury for always being ther,e supporting and encouraging me throughout my year 8 journey here at ANI. I wish you and the year sevens all the best next year.

Being in the Guild has been a very new and enjoyable experience. As a year eight leaving this school, I will find other opportunities but it will be hard to leave this school.
Lucja Wisniewska
My final year at ANI was greatly impacted by being part of the Guild. It shaped me into the writer, presenter, editor and teammate that I am today.
I’m infinitely grateful for the memories, laughs, and articles that we published. I felt like a part of all the achievements we accomplished as a whole.
It hurts me more than words can describe that the year with our team is coming to a close.
Ms Chowdhury has been an exceptional Guild Teacher (congrats on juggling ILE 19/20 AND the guild members!). I’ll never forget the friends I’ve made and the articles I’ve worked on in the MPS cafe.
Goodbye ANI, Goodbye Guild, Goodbye Ms Chowdhury. I will eternally miss and remember every aspect of our fortnightly meetings.
In deep bittersweetness, Lucja Wisniewska of room 20.

This has been the most amazing year. I have loved being a year seven at ANI. But as the end of 2025 approaches, we must begin a new journey.
For me, that is year eight, I am really excited about next year, and I will definitely be signing up for the ANI Guild again.
Accepting the new year 2026 is really exciting and fun. But It is also really upsetting, and sad. Even though I have mixed feelings about this I’m excited to see where the journey takes me next!

This year at ANIi has been eventful and I’m grateful for the opportunities that I have been given.

This year at ANI has been amazing; my highlight, of course, was joining the ANI guild.
It has not only helped me with my writing skills, but it has also been just a blast to meet new people and learn important lessons about writing for a school newspaper.
The afternoons filled with writing were my highlight of the week, and I am really glad I decided to join the ANI guild this year.
One of the best things about being part of the ANI guild is how everyone helps each other out with articles to make sure everyone of them is finished on time and completed to an excellent standard.
All of this is thanks to Miss Chowdhury; your support has really made the guild feel like a community rather than just a club you join. I hope to see you next year in the ANI guild!
Charlotte Simons
This year in the ANI guild has been amazing. I have made new friends and learned new skills.
From not knowing what I was getting myself into, to having the best time writing articles with new friends and a new community. I am truly grateful I decided to sign up for the ANI guild.
There have been many new opportunities that I tried, but the ANI guild was by far my favourite opportunity.
It truly is a bittersweet moment leaving the ANI guild.
Erin Flynn Grace
Being in the ANI guild as a year 7 this year has been so amazing! I loved being able to illustrate pictures and comics for our newspaper, communicate with others and make new friends! Thank you so much for a wonderful year.
Ms Chowdhury
I could not have written a better heartfelt goodbye than the ones that these amazing journalists, editors, presenters and Illustrators have written. If you’ve made it through them without shedding a tear or two, then you are a stronger person than I.
When I first started at ANI, I had a small writing extension group that named themselves The Writer’s Guild. That has since evolved and grown into a vast team of press members who have made it through budget cuts, redundancies, and a plethora of “THIS ARTICLE IS URGENT, GET IT DONE BY THE END OF THE WEEK”. So it’s safe to say that they’re hardened journalists now.
In all honesty, it’s been an absolute pleasure to have been in a room filled with students who care as much as I do. Who have juggled their ever flowing extra curricular activities and still managed to make it to the Guild meetings that have had a consistently revolving meeting place. It’s safe to say you’ve filled my cup. I’m sure the next iteration of The ANI Guild in 2026 will be incredible, but to my current year 8s: the mark you’ve left in our community will not be forgotten. You are, and forevermore, will be published writers, and I cannot wait to see what you do next.
I would also like to thank an unsung hero, Lynley Sheweiry. She has single-handedly kept the show running in the background tirelessly. It’s a team effort, this thing, and I’m so grateful for my team!
Signing out for the very last time, this year,
Ms Chowdhury
Editor in Chief
