My name is Yen Kim and I am the classroom teacher of Room 26 at ANI. I have been working with this fabulous team and students of our community since last year.
My dream of teaching and the journey to come this far started in South Korea when I was 13. I met the most inspiring teacher at school and that’s when I decided I wanted to teach. I have finished my secondary teacher training in the Social Studies subject area in Seoul, and moved to New Zealand in 2017 where I completed my postgraduate degree in primary teaching.
I have special interests in Music, Maths and Languages. I enjoy being outdoors, cliff hiking, biking, spontaneous picnics and many more. I also love spending some quiet time at home, playing piano, cooking or baking cakes.
I am very much looking forward to building relationships with students and whanau this year. I will work hard to challenge and inspire our students with some of the most exciting learning opportunities.
