Kia ora, Asaalam alaykum and Bula to all of you, my name is Sana Yakub and the proud teacher of room 20. This is my second year at ANI and my second year living in New Zealand as well. I was born and raised in Australia, Melbourne and happened to find the love of my life across the Tasman in New Zealand. I graduated from Deakin University with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary teaching/arts majoring in children’s literature. I had an early passion for teaching from a young age which stemmed from my grandfather being the head principal in his hometown in Fiji. I never thought I would leave Australia but I believe this change is for the better and I already feel so welcomed by those surrounding me here in NZ. One thing I enjoy is seeing how much NZ embraces the Maori culture and I sense the love the community shares for its country. I have travelled to Queenstown, Wellington and Rotorua so far but I have much more of NZ to explore. I look forward to establishing a great rapport with my class by establishing a relationship based on trust and honesty. I will do my level best in giving my students quality and beneficial teaching and most importantly have fun with teaching!
