Saasha Jolley

Y7 Dean, Room 21

Tēnā Koutou, my name is Saasha Jolley. I am fortunate enough to be the classroom teacher of Room 21 and the Year 7 Dean. My journey at ANI began in 2016, initially as a third-year student teacher from the University of Auckland. I have been a classroom teacher since 2017 and I feel blessed to be able to do what I love.

As a classroom teacher, I believe in strong and positive relationships with my ākonga (student) and their whānau (family) are at the core of my practice. I especially enjoy working with the intermediate age group as it is a special time in their life while they transition from primary education. Building them to be lifelong learners over the next two years is a special journey.

As the Year 7 Dean, my role extends beyond the classroom. I am here to support, guide and advocate for all our tamariki (children) in Year 7. Together we are a community so it is crucial to me that they feel valued and heard.

Outside of school, you’ll find me enjoying moments with my whānau (family) and my son, who is almost 5. He loves to come and visit ANI and has fun interacting with all the tamariki (children), most of the time having more fun than what he has with me!

I am excited for the year ahead ☺️
