Hello! My name is Shivani Rampersad and I was born and raised in South Africa. I have two siblings and I am the middle child.I am happily married and have three fur babies-the most mischievous but lovable golden labradors!
I have been a teacher for over fourteen years and have been fortunate enough to experience and teach a wonderful mix of diverse cultures. Being in the midst of such diversity has broadened my mind and allowed me to embrace the richness of each culture as I learnt more about the different traditions. I have taught in three of our nine provinces and travelled to Russia, Turkey, Bali and the Maldives for holiday but never worked outside of South Africa, until now!
Teaching is such a rewarding career which allows for much personal development and self-reflection. In the last three years, I have had the opportunity to occupy roles in management which challenged and enriched me. Considering the holistic well-being of each student is vital for teaching and I enjoy building healthy relationships with my students and peers as we learn from each other. I am excited to be joining the team at Ani and enjoy the change and growth it will offer. I look forward to teaching, collaborating and getting to know the year 7 and 8 students. I cherish the priceless memories made through travelling and cannot wait to explore Auckland in my spare time.
