Kia Ora everyone, my name is Nick and I am very proud to be a Year 8 team leader at ANI and the Room 9 teacher this year. I have the privilege to lead a team of multi-talented and mulit-cultural teachers who bring incredible experience and enthusiasm to the school. Rimu Team is a fantastic group of teachers that provide wonderful learning experiences for their students. As a teacher I invest in students as lifelong learners and believe that they are capable of incredible achievements when they find a passion for learning and that their teacher is key to helping them find and explore this. I really enjoy supporting sports within the school and making the most of all the active opportunities at ANI.
I was born to a New Zealand mother and English father who met in London and that is where I was raised for a few years before moving down to Southampton. This is the third time I have lived in New Zealand but, for this time around, I made the move with my beautiful wife, Laura, back in 2019. Little did we know that we had a little stowaway on board with us and it wasn’t long until we welcomed our daughter, Olivia, who is a proud little kiwi already! We enjoy spending our weekends and evenings at the beach and playing in the local parks.
I love the ocean and enjoy my sea swimming every weekend, no matter the weather or temperature! I swim in open water events all over New Zealand and use these as opportunities to explore our beautiful Aoteroa. I am in awe of nature; mountains, lakes, the sea and forests are where I find calm and an appreciation for the world we live in.
