Megan Hughes is the Year 8 Dean and Team Leader of the Matai team. Along with these, Megan also has the role of SENCO (Tue & Fri) supporting those students who need help with learning or behaviour. In the past she has taught from new entrants to year 8 students. She loves teaching intermediate age students and seeing them develop throughout the year into confident young men and women.
In her spare time she loves reading and this enjoyment is something she strives to pass down to the students. Megan is an avid movie watcher (she encourages recommendations), a huge LEGO fan, she enjoys listening to different genres of music and can often be heard singing in her class before and after school. She has a love of the water and swimming, enjoying the beach whenever possible.
Megan is always looking for ways to improve her teaching, modelling what it means to be a lifelong learner and inquirer. She is looking forward to working with all the year 8s this year and will be encouraging them to take all the opportunities ANI has to offer.
If you have any questions about Year 8s or if you feel you need some support for your child for their learning or behaviour please contact Megan.
