Kia ora e te whanau. My name is Matthew Bowman and I am the lucky classroom teacher of Room 10. I like to see myself as a self-directed, action-oriented professional with over 5 year’s experience in education and community service.
I was born and raised in the North of England (Yorkshire) and arrived in New Zealand in 2020. I am looking forward to getting to know all my students and building strong, positive relationships. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy being active and spending lots of my time outdoors. I play a range of sports but the one I am most passionate about is football (soccer).
As a teacher, I am an enthusiastic and committed educator with an innate ability to understand and motivate children and I strive to build student self-esteem and encourage understanding of cultural diversity to create a cooperative community in the classroom. This year a big focus of mine will be to prepare our students for the amazing opportunities they will face in and out of the classroom and apply these to the ever-changing scenarios they will face later on in life.
