Kia ora! My name is Maddy Mitchell, the year seven classroom teacher for Room 26. This will be my second year at Auckland Normal Intermediate and I’m so excited to continue working with such an inspiring team.
I grew up on Auckland’s North Shore as the middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. In 2015 I was blessed with three step-sisters and I’m now the second oldest! My beautiful blended family is full of love, laughter and lots of fun! I have always had a passion for ballet and contemporary dance and I can’t wait to share this with the ANI community. In my spare time, I often find myself creating and watching things come to life. I have recently enjoyed going on nature walks, painting by numbers, diamond art, playing the guitar and listening to live music. My family and I are also massive rugby union fans and never miss a game!
I am really looking forward to fostering an environment for lifelong learners, where everyone is supported to take ownership of their learning. I welcome curiosity and will encourage my students to use their mistakes as a stepping stone to success and to take risks in all areas. Kia pai tō rā!
