Hello, I’m Lauren and it is a privilege to be placed here in Room 1 with Ms Lightfoot on a TESP Scholarship while I complete my Graduate Diploma in Teaching with the University of Auckland.
I grew up in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland with my parents, twin brother and older sister, attended Avondale College, then studied a Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design (BCGD) at Waikato University, graduating in 2005. I went on to work in the wedding and portrait photography industry until 2019, then moved into real estate as a salesperson until 2026. I’m active in my local Sandringham community as a member of the PTA at Edendale Primary, where my children attend, and was Treasurer of the wonderful Sandringham Community Playgroup from 2019 – 2024.
Teaching has always been on my heart as a career I wanted to pursue, and I feel blessed to have been placed here at this fantastic school. I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for learning with others – there’s nothing like seeing a student’s eyes light up when the concept you are teaching ‘clicks’. I especially love to teach kids how to bake or cook, so I’m excited to be placed at a school with Food Tech!
I’m an avid baker, and in my spare time you’ll find me planning and creating delicious meals or snacks, hanging out with my family, or planning a travel adventure.
