Kia ora koutou, my name is Annie and I am extremely excited to be able to work alongside both the amazing staff and students of ANI. I am creative and passionate in my approaches to teaching and learning and hope to inspire such qualities in my students. I have a strong belief that learning never stops, and hope to gain new knowledge from my students also.
I have spent my time growing up on the North Shore of Auckland, but trace my whakapapa to the northern iwi of Ngāpuhi in the Hokianga region. I have a strong connection to tikanga and my Māori culture, and love being able to incorporate it wherever possible. My upbringing was also one that was rich in the arts, particularly drama, dance and visual arts as well as a few sports. I currently enjoy Ballroom and Latin American dance, as well as the odd game of touch rugby or football. I look forward to working alongside the on-coming ākonga of ANI.
