Odell is a very gentle calm-natured dog. She is a retired service dog, so is meticulously trained to remain calm in any circumstance. She has been in ANI for a year and a half now. We got the opportunity to have Odell after she had retired from being a service dog and was very sad at home with no people to help. She is a particularly good listener and a great distraction when things are overwhelming. She was chosen to breed service dogs before she retired and had a total of 22 puppies!
In her spare time, Odell loves going for walks and swimming. Odell enjoys being off the lead on her walks and when you’re not watching, she likes to jump into the nearest water for a dip!! Her favourite thing in the entire world are carrots. If you have a carrot she will be your best friend. Last year one of the children gifted her a carrot teddy and to this day it is her most loved possession, showing it to anyone who walks through the door.
Odell is often seen around the school with Ms O’Dea. She follows along behind her around the school. If you see her, don’t be afraid to say hello! If she is wearing her blue bandana, that tells us she is working and cannot be patted, but if she has no bandana around her neck, you are so welcome to give her a pat or a cuddle.
