Shane Devery

Shane Devery

Deputy Principal

Shane is an experienced educator having taught at all levels of the primary sector. He has held a number of leadership positions in schools including being
a Deputy Principal for a number of years.

His main focus in 2018 is developing curriculum and assessment practices that meet the needs of every student. This will be accomplished through using the IB PYP learning framework that is concept based, but more importantly inquiry driven and student centred. The IB framework is a fantastic way to deliver the New Zealand Curriculum at ANI. He hopes to empower all learners so they can do the best they can and enable them to make progress in all areas of the curriculum.

Shane is looking forward to working closely with all students, their teachers and the community during the year and sharing the many opportunities and
successes for all of our learners.

Shane loves to be outdoors and you can often see him out at Piha patrolling the beach and keeping people safe. He also enjoys sports of all shapes and

2018 ANI Staff Teaching and Support Staff sizes and is looking forward to the Commonwealth and Winter Games later in the year.

Please feel free to contact him at any time, he is looking forward to meeting and hearing from you.
