Shane Devery

Shane Devery

Deputy Principal

Shane is an experienced educator having taught at all levels of the primary sector. He has held a number of leadership positions in schools including being
a Deputy Principal for a many years.

His main focus in 2019 is business as usual, after the fire in January, while developing curriculum and assessment practices that engage and motivate students to be a successful learner. This will be accomplished through using the IB PYP learning framework that is integrated into other curriculum areas, conceptually based, and more importantly student centred inquiry. The IB framework is a fantastic way to deliver the New Zealand Curriculum at ANI. He hopes to empower all learners so they can do the best they can and enable them to make progress in all areas of the NZ curriculum.

Shane is looking forward to working closely with all students, their teachers and the community during the year and sharing the many opportunities and
successes for all of our learners.

Shane loves the outdoors and you can often see him out at Piha beach, keeping people safe. He also enjoys sports of all shapes and sizes.

He is looking forward to the Rugby world cup and Cricket world cup later in the year.

Please feel free to contact him at any time, he is looking forward to meeting and hearing from you.
