Team Leader, Room 9
Nick Edwards is the Team Leader of the Rimu team. Nick has taught from Year 1 to Year 8 students and is currently completing his Masters in Education. He has really enjoyed teaching intermediate age students and developing children’s academic and transdisciplinary skills to ensure they make the most of the learning experiences ANI has to offer and prepare them fully for the challenges of High School and beyond.
Nick is an active swimmer and loves being in the water. He can regularly be found in the sea during warm weekends training for events. Nick enjoys reading and always carries a book on him. Nick believes reading is the gateway to so many of the ways in which we learn so is passionate about sharing this with his students. Nick loves to travel with his wife, Laura, and always tries to make the most of his holidays; he wants to inspire this in his new daughter, Olivia, too.
Nick is looking forward to continuing to work within the team of enthusiastic, talented and experienced teachers here at ANI. Nick believes in the IB programme as an incredibly future focussed framework for teaching the core skills from the NZ curriculum and combining these with the transdisciplinary life skills that employers look for.
If you have any questions regarding Year 8, then please do not hesitate to contact him.
