As a teacher, Katy is dedicated to helping pupils become caring, confident and well-rounded citizens. She believes that education encompasses more than academia, and works hard to help pupils find and flourish in their passions. After completing a BA in Philosophy, she gained experience teaching in The Gambia and China before completing teacher training. She then taught year 5 in England until recently moving to New Zealand to begin working at ANI. Katy is a compassionate, socially conscious person with a love of nature – she aims to promote positive values towards the world around us and our impact upon it.
In her spare time she enjoys scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, cycling, singing, live music and the arts!
