Gina Speedy

School Counsellor

Gina is our full-time School Counsellor available to support the needs of students at no cost. If anything is getting in the way of a student’s learning, success or wellbeing our counsellor can help.

Focus areas might be academic, behavioural or emotional. For example managing overwhelming feelings, navigating friendships, making a decision or working through grief, anxiety conflict or similar issues. To do this, our counsellor liaises with students, teachers, staff, whanau and community agencies.

Gina is a fully registered primary teacher who has Postgraduate Qualifications in Counselling. Currently she is working toward membership with The New Zealand Association of Counsellors and therefore adheres to their Code of Ethics as well as the ethical code for NZ teachers.

Outside of school, Gina loves to travel, read and stay active by exploring Auckland’s great beaches and walks. She is a volunteer at Lifeline and when possible, loves to visit her family in the lower North Island.
