Gemma is a passionate teacher and enjoys working with intermediate aged students. Having joined ANI halfway through 2017, this will be her second full year teaching in Room 13. Prior to joining ANI, Gemma taught in the United Arab Emirates for three years. While there she worked in international schools and taught various year levels, including new entrants.
Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with her students and their whānau is very important to Gemma. Her belief is that students find learning difficult if they are not comfortable or happy at school, and so she makes this a priority from the get-go.
Outside of school, Gemma spends most of her Saturdays cold and wet on the rugby pitch. If she isn’t doing that, you’ll find her at the gym, in front of the TV cheering on the Black Ferns or the All Blacks, or heading down to Wellington to visit her family.
