ANI Students and Social Media


Kia ora e te whānau,

Lately, we have been experiencing an increase in the amount of incidents happening around the use of Tiktok outside of school hours. 

As part of our pastoral care for the students, the staff and school will support them when issues caused by social media come into school. However, as these incidents are happening outside of school on platforms that ANI cannot manage or control, we do rely on adults at home to monitor and support. 

Please discuss this with your children.

The legal age to be on social media, (13 for tiktok, instagram, snapchat, discord, and the majority of social media)
Being safe and respectful online.
If something makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, report it, block it and speak to an adult about it.

ANI does monitor and reports social media accounts when necessary. Please let your child’s classroom teacher know if there is anything that needs to be brought to our attention.
