This course provides students with the opportunity to explore and enjoy the ins and outs of a DAW (digital audio workspace) and production. Students develop skills in composing, mixing, arranging and recording audio. Opportunities are offered to students to creatively develop their musical knowledge, abilities, confidence and understanding. During the course students will be working towards 2-3 finished songs to group as an E.P (extended play record) of either instrumentals or complete tracks. Students will explore the digital age of record production and vocal processing. Understanding music is diverse and a home for creativity, an open mind is necessary to be involved in the course. Exposure to an assortment of musical styles and genres will give students a palette of context and inspiration for their own composition and performance development.
Students may bring their own laptops to work from if they so desire, but it is not absolutely necessary.
